My name is Naja Lydeking-Olsen and I am running for a seat on the CBS Board of Directors. I study Business Administration & Sociology at my 5. semester. I have been dedicated to Copenhagen Business School, in everything I do since I began my studies. Parallel to my studies I work at Danske Bank, giving me the mindset of a true CBS’er.

Furthermore, I am involved in the Board of Directors at CBS Students, the Academic Council at CBS, ECO. and have experience from the Study Board. These experiences have given me an extensive knowledge of the inner workings of CBS and I am confident that this will help me in creating a better environment for the students, when I am elected as a member of the CBS Board of Directors. 

My goals

• I want to improve the conditions for the student organizations at CBS.

The student organizations are an important part of CBS. The volunteer work and initiatives taking place at campus need strong support from CBS. Whenever it concerns knowledge sharing, funding, possibilities of creating events, or a temporary storage room, I will ensure the student organizations are a priority for CBS.

• Secondly, I wish to ensure the future of the combination lines at CBS.

The educational strategy at CBS is to have many doors in and few out. This means that the many specialized, bachelor, combination lines will be a way into CBS, whereas on the master level the vision is to have fewer, more general study lines. This brings the existing master lines in jeopardy. I will ensure that the students’ interests are taken into account and aim at enhancing the quality of CBS’s study programs.

• Thirdly, I want to ensure the quality of the language programmes at CBS.

Diversity in the academic disciplines at CBS creates a dynamic learning environment, with numerous viewpoints and innovative competences. One of the most valuable assets at CBS in this regard is the language programs. They need to be strengthened and quality ensured.

• Last but not least, I will work towards achieving a more transparent decisions making process at CBS.

At the moment, the general student population is not aware of the major decisions made on their behalf. Therefore it is essential that the student member in the CBS Board of Directors works proactively towards attaining more transparent decision-making processes at CBS to keep the student community informed.

Achievements

I am confident that I can reach the goals that I’ve outlined above. In my term as a board member of CBS Students, we managed to not only lead CBS Students successfully but to create a sustainable and healthy economic foundation for the future of the organization.

I believe that I have what it takes to bring CBS and the student community to the next level if I am elected into CBS Board of Directors.
